Your guide will take you through, and tell you the history of the stunning opulent state rooms. Your guide will also take you through St Georges Chapel (closed on Sundays) where Prince Harry and Megan Markle were married. Throughout the tour your guide tell you the history of this magnificent castle and it's grounds. Look out for the magnificent dolls house built in the early 1920s for Queen Mary, the wife of King George V.
Hampton Court Palace.
Built in 1515 Hampton Court Palace is one of the finest examples of a Tudor palace in Britain today.
Original built by Thomas Wolsey, Henry Vlll's right hand man, Hampton Court was a palace fit for a king.
When Wolsey fell out of favor with Henry, Henry took over the palace and had it extended.
Here your guide will take you through Base Court and into the Tudor kitchens and tell you about the food and cooking that had to be done for over 800 people twice a day. From here you will go to the best surviving Tudor hall in the country. This is where many feasts would take place and in later years where William Shakespeare would perform for James l. Then its off to the Chapel Royal and Clock Court. The clock here dates back to 1540 and is still working today.
From Clock Court we enter the new Baroque style palace designed by Sir Christopher Wren for William lll and Mary ll in the 1600's. Here you will be guided through the Kings state and private apartments before walking through the gardens that Hampton Court is also famous for.
