Private guided tour of Windsor Castle and Stonehenge

Your private driver guide will meet you at your Central London hotel at 9AM and will explain the tour itinerary. This is a good opportunity to discuss any changes you would like to make or to mention any requests you may have.

Windsor Castle.

There has been a castle on this site for almost 1,000 years. The castle has grown over the years as it was originally built as a base for soldiers around 1068. In the 1100's the royal family decided to move in and make it a royal castle and the royals have been staying there ever since. It is now said to be the favorite residence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll.

On arrival at Windsor your guide will take you through a separate entrance where you will skip the lines and they will give you a private guided tour of the castle and it's magnificent grounds.

Your guide will take you through, and tell you the history of the stunning opulent state rooms. Your guide will also take you through St Georges Chapel (closed on Sundays) where Harry and Megan were married. Throughout the tour your guide tell you the history of this magnificent castle and its grounds. Look out for the magnificent dolls house built in the early 1920s for Queen Mary, the wife of King George V.

The town of Windsor is also the ideal place to stop for lunch. There are many places to choose from here and your guide will be happy to make some suggestions.

On route from Windsor to Stonehenge you will pass through the English countryside and your driver guide will tell you all about what you are seeing.

Before arriving at the World Heritage Site of Stonehenge your driver guide will tell you some of the history of this 5,000 year old mysterious site. On arrival your guide will escort you through, and tell you about, the wonderful exhibition in the new visitor centre before taking you outside to see the recreated houses of the builders of Stonehenge. Then you will head down to the stone circle where your guide will tell you more of the history of Stonehenge and the surrounding countryside.
